The Hollywood Look For Less is having to close down the Swap Shop at Cross Street Blaby due to lack of funding. The swap shop was set up in the first instance after Holly and Shirley Yanez made a film with the BBC Inside Out program about dressing the homeless to get work, click on link to watch.

Although the swap shop was looked at by Blaby Council and written about by The Leicester Mercury and contact magazine, support for any funding has not materialized. David Cameron has had a recent letter asking for government support because many women have shown a great need for such a venture and in this current climate, swapping is the new shopping.

It is really sad that a green/recycling award wining Council run village like Blaby, swapping goods to help stop landfill waste by getting everyone to recycle their clothes, all for good, is unable to see the benefits of having the very first bricks and mortar swap shop in the UK.

The most terrible of terrible things happened today in The Hollywood Look For Less world. We had a huge meeting with a new client in London so got up at 5am ready to slap on the tart kit and dress to impress but realized we had no foundation left and no money to buy some. The outfits were ready to wear and simple, two fab day dresses we picked up yesterday at croft car boot for under £10 for both, believe it or not! With clobber on, hair straighteners in hand and high heels we set off to London with make up free faces, stopping off at the first big department store we could find along the way and headed straight for the Chanel counter.
