The Cock Inn Peatling Magna

Best Of British pubs.
Tucked away in the beautiful rural village, Pealing Magna Leicestershire, you will find what can only be described as one of Britain’s best pubs, The Cock Inn.
It is a small cosy, home like establishment with open fires and low wooden beans in the winter and a picturesque watering hole for cyclists, hikers and the horsey set, in the summer.
Mine host Richard is an entertaining, hand’s on all-rounder, who boasts the best food, best value in the area. We can speak first hand having enjoyed not only the friendly happy welcome and service but the tasty, homemade fayre, delivered with love every time.
The Cock Inn is a truly memorable experience.
Early doors is well worth a visit when the bar is packed with locals and newcomers are always welcome with open arms to join in with the banter over hearty plates of gratuitous local cheese and crackers.
The pubs is still covered in British flags, after a very successful fund raising and family fun jubilee street party and will remain up until after the Olympics. Richard is well known for his big heart and fun raising events. Last summer Richard got all his local pals to strip off for a calendar girl like shoot, to raise money for cancer research, selling a thousand copies.
Booking the restaurant at weekends is advisable and Sunday lunch can be busy, so call ahead of time to secure a table.
Outside there are wooden tables and chairs for taking in the real country atmosphere, so walking, after lunch, is a must in a place where there are vast open spaces alive with nature.

The Sport Of Seduction.

The Sport Of Seduction- Every Man's Guide To Getting Laid

After witnessing the over whelming interest from women across the globe, who have been turned on by Christian Grey, the leading man in the novel 50 Shades of Grey, a Leicester life coach thinks its time real men got some help with their seduction techniques. She has written a funny seducer’s guide, The Sport of Seduction; Every Man’s Guide To Getting Laid, in hope she can help inspire them to change.
25th July, 2012, Leicester, UK- Shirley Yanez has not had sex herself for 10 years, not because she is religious, a man hater or unable to attract one willing and able, it is a personal choice and mainly, in recent years, simply because she hasn’t met a man she considers worth giving up her celibacy for.
“It is clear from the vast amount of women getting turned on by a smutty book, they feel neglected and starved of sex from the real men in their lives” says Yanez.
Shirley believes the fun has gone from sex and marriage. To her it seems all men love sport more than sex these days, so by combining, sex, sport and humour, she hopes this book will encourage the opposite sex to think more about what women really desire from their men, and guide them to seduction success every time.
When romance is as dead as the new romantics and sex is only in the minds of women, not on their minds and certainly not happening in their bedrooms, The Sport of Seduction is a laugh out loud, read for any man interested in becoming as essential to womankind as the battery in a sex maniacs vibrator.
The book is currently available for download in digital format through Kindle. It is priced at £1.53.

The New Venus Cow Collection Coming Soon!

Shirley Yanez, a 57 year old life coach from Leicester has discovered the secrets how to turn back the clock when it comes to looking and feeling ageless but she insists her program is not easy for most to even contemplate.
In 2005 after a near death experience, Shirley made a decision to get healthy and begin to appreciate and understand how her body worked in order to be the best she could be in later life, rather than let herself go!
She gave up all her addictions, dinking, smoking, chocolate, sex, shopping, drugs, meat and caffeine by going cold turkey over night.
Six years on, the results speak for themselves now Shirley is a perfect size 12 with ageless style. She has designed her own fabulous fashion collection Venus Cow for real women with curves and disposable income who have been dismissed and ignored by the High Street.
Shirley says
“ Older women no matter how slim or fat desire on trend staples with structure, sleeves, stretch and sex appeal, that are effective, affordable and versatile. “
Age is just a number and many middle aged women have given up the fight in this current youth obsessed culture, choosing fat frumpy and forgotten over fabulous fifty and fashionable!
Brutal truth common sense and someone to help build confidence and develop will power is all it takes to endure the short term pain, in order to benefit from long term gain, so Shirley created a free on line life coaching website and journal www.venuscow.com to help anyone work on themselves in private.
Shirley says
“ When you manage to take back control of your life and begin to face your brutal truth, everything you thought impossible becomes an amazing reality. I am living proof anything is possible if you are prepared to do the work and make better choices.”

Since 2000 I have been celibate. After such a horrendous near death life changing experience I had not even thought about sex, not once, most people thought I was either a Man hater, depressed or a lesbian. The pressure people put on you for going against the grain, not being obsessed with finding a Man, always looking for love or just being happy being single, is massive but for me it works. Now in 2010 celibate 10 years and never going back is the best thing that has happened to me and has changed my life in more ways than one. I have the body at 53 I have always wanted after giving up sex, alcohol, chocolate, drugs, shopping and caffeine.
I walk five miles a day, do yoga to keep focused and the natural high is better than any drug I have taken. I am not lonely because I believe you cannot look for love, just attract it and with my busy passion for life, sex is neither the point nor the focus. When you discover looking outward for fulfilment is just a rouse, you can never be alone because you always have yourself. When you look inward you learn you have to take responsibility for yourself and be brave enough to tackle the things that don't work for you in your life, starting with bad relationships, which ironically most of the time, sex is not part of.

I am now as budget lifestyle expert and self therapy life coach and teach other Women how to look and feel fantastic on a shoestring in a free live touring interactive show The Hollywood Look For Less. Many women have lost their confidence, they don't feel sexy anymore and in the recession money is tight, so we try and inspire Women to swap clothes, get in shape and find time for themselves.
At Venus Cow we don't say it is easy to give up something you want but sometimes it might just be what you need. Losing everything including my life for a short while made me take a long hard look at myself, money had not made me happy, sex had never fulfilled my needs and when you have faced such fear, there is nothing else to fear. Now I keep my knickers on, I cannot beat Men off with a stick, they always want what they cannot have in my experience and until they get it, they never stop trying, so maybe if more Women followed suit, celibacy could be seen as very desirable.
My whole life now, is about giving back and helping other Women recognise sex is just like any other addiction, it's a choice. The definition of insanity is to repeat the same behaviour and expect a different result.

Secondhand Rose In Vintage Clothes

Over-buying and compulsive shopping is no different to binge eating. The empty emotional hole that you’re trying to fill with clothing, will never be satisfied. Shopping offers a temporary high, often excessive shopping can become a coping method to distract yourself from the real, underlying problem, you are unhappy!

The problem with this behaviour is avoidance does not work and will only makes things worse. So what starts out  as an emotional problem is further compounded by massive credit card debt and a pointless closet filled with clothes you don’t need and will never wear.

Take a leaf out of Sharon Stones book of life and get yourself some recycled vintage fashion in order to practise your own style and not waste anymore money on mistakes, ill-fitting clothes and spending money you just don't have.

Fashion is for sheep, style is unique, so no matter how old you are, how inexperienced you are, practise your own style with someone else mistakes, at the same time saving you cash and distress when the unwanted debt mounts up in a pile along with the unwanted clothes you will never wear.

Home Look For Less

We talk alot about Match and Contrast in our clothes style show, The Hollywood Look For Less, where we teach women how to look and feel fantastic on a budget and when styling homes on a budget we use the same technique, starting with one print, then adding patterns or plain, one by one, linking each previous addition to the next. In the picture you can see how many bright and bold patterns can work together with the solid bold orange and green pillows pulling the look together. When you engage an interior designer, or select fabric from a pattern book, they do the work or other fabrics have already been selected as textiles that work together, what you pay a high price for but with a few simple tips anyone can create fantastic, magazine worthy and most importantly unique, interiors style.

Top Tips

1. When using textiles as the foundation to your design template, (it might be wallpaper, plants, furniture, room layout) keep the walls plain. Pick the number one fabric you love for your design and paint the walls the lightest colour in the fabric. (or white)

2. The best places to source yardage are direct from the manufacturer (many textile mills will sell to the public) at car boots and you can find curtains use to cut down for cushions and upholstery.

3. Only buy fabrics you like and that inspire you, feeling the weight and texture are a good indicater of quality if you are a novice. Trying to create something amazing with fabric you bought because it was cheap, a great deal will never give you the result you want.

4. Pick up old pillows, cushions in a variety of shapes and sizes at the car boot, charity shop and recycle the inserts. They can be washed in the washing machine and then recovered. If you are not great at sewing stick to cutting 2 squares of equal size. Lay them right side together, stitch round three sides and then half way round the fourth. Turn the outside in, insert your pillow and neatly hand stitch closed.

5. Proper patchwork is a skill and extremely time consuming, used to create luxury for less in days gone by. Use this concept to make tiered curtains from cheaper remnants. Choose three equal bands of matching or contrasting fabric and stitch then together to create the length you need.

6. Tie back your curtains. This is the single most effective tip for a finished interiors look. Use ribbon, dressing gown cord or stitch a pice of lining fabric, 18"" by 5" along the top and down the side to make a sausage. Turn it inside out and stuff it with chopped up old tights or socks then cover with fabric and attach a curtain ring at each end. Voila.

7. With material and a staple gun you can transform all kinds of furniture, pop seats out of dining chairs and use as a template to cut fabric. Then going from top to bottom and left side to right, stretch the fabric and staple it, stretch and staple, until you have done your own simple upholstery. (staple gun part of your luxury for less tool kit). You can always find interesting furniture, footstools, linen hampers, buffets recycled at the car boot or local junk shop that can be customised with fabric.

8. Make a new headboard or piece of art using a blank artist canvass, a piece of fabric and your staple gun as before. This makes a fantastic and very inexpensive custom addition to your room's decor. Remember to measure where you are putting it before buying the canvass.

Budget Room Revamp

The most underestimated budget interior design top tip to freshen things up is to simply move your furniture around. Keeping things static keeps you static so it is great to mix things up a little. It is also a good way to get into corners and around skirting boards and give them a good old clean which off course does help with the overall look of your room.

A rail for clothes provides a wardrobe on a budget, making clothes easily visable, accessible and creates a designer feature for beautiful pieces you love to wear but equally get pleasure from just looking at. I've had one for years. It's great.

Get rid of furniture mistakes, dining tables that are never sat at, beds too big for rooms and use them to swap for new to you with neighbours and friends for an interior design pick me up. Next time you must go shopping for your home keep the goal in mind then think small, light, multi purpose and recycled. I bought a low, long foot stool years ago that has moved around my home and had multiple uses from additional seating to a low coffee table to a safe step up for reaching a high storage cupboard. It has been recovered over and over using just a piece of material and a staple gun. It is a fabulous, one of a kind beautiful piece that was really cheap and I'm sure it will reinvent itself many times over in the future.

Be bold, be creative, experiment, swap pieces from room to room. If you don't like the end result or it doesn't work for your lifestyle just have another go. Once you get into this you'll absolutely love it. Keep things simple, clutter is chaotic, clean is calming so best advice donate some stuff to charity, less is usually more when it comes to effective interiors on a budget.

How To Get The Look For Less When Broke.

Every day of your life is an audition, so looking and feeling fabulous is critical, regardless of age or financial status because when preparation meets opportunity, you get luck!

So how does a girl get the look, without spending a single penny? The Hollywood look for less have been shouting this mantra for years now, buy new and the jokes on you! Times are tough, purse strings are tight and the poor shopaholic has been left with the " I want it" addiction madness but without the money to pay for it.

Its times like this when you have to get savvy, think fast and detach from the over filled closet you already have, if you want to have your cake and eat it. Once you have mastered the clear out process and used the overwhelming desire to have something new to wear to help you detach, you then call your other shopaholic pals and get them to do the same.

Once you have all done the work, you then arrange a swap party at your house and you all swap and style the stuff you have successfully detached from with each other, making shopping the new swapping. This is such a great thing to do and the only thing to do, if you are broke and still want a new look. The great thing is, often what you already had becomes more desirable when on someone else, its called clothes envy.

Swapping clothes in the UK came to early, when money was not so tight but these dark days we find ourselves in now, this truly is the best way to get the look, the fix and the result you desire without the headache of a big unwanted credit card and a purchase you would never wear anyway.

The Good For You Lifestyle

Having a vegetarian diet can help lower the risk of type 2 diabetes and help you discover a new more healthy lifestyle. Meat is very bad for you and causes bloating in middle age, especially if mixed with too much alcohol, so replace it and include dried beans, like kidney or pinto and plenty of lentils and pulses into your daily meals.

Cut back on high calorie snack foods and desserts like chips, cookies, cakes, chocolate, ice cream and sweet fizzy drinks. To stay looking young in middle age go for non-fat dairy, such as skimmed milk, non-fat yogurt and non-fat cheese. Choose vegetable oil for cooking instead of solid fats and always use plenty of olive oil for your skin and hair. It is a great tip to add a little vinegar to your daily diet, including vinegar-based salad dressing. Vinegar helps slow the rate at which body absorbs sugar from your food. Cut out butter and salt to add flavor to food, try using herbs instead for more flavor. Opt for a high fibre cereals and oats because high fibre is digested more slowly. Try soya, eggplant, spinach, tofu and zucchini as a replacement for the meat in your recipes.  Eating too much of anything can lead to unwanted weight gain, so, watch your portion sizes and stick to 2000 calories per day for Women and 2500 for Men.

Looking and feeling great is the secret to happiness at any age but the older we get, the harder the task becomes, so get in shape, save money and enjoy a long healthy happy lifestyle now by giving up eating meat.

How To Lose Middle Age Spread

It is a tragic fact that Women over 40 are struggling to keep on top of their weight, youth and desirability, primarily because they have given up even trying, due to lack of honest advice disguised as the diet business. Losing weight until you look great, the size you should be, then maintaining that healthy natural body weight, is easily attainable for anyone willing to listen, then do the work it takes to achieve it.

The natural healthy body weight for a woman is achieved by consuming 2000 calories per day and as long as you keep consistent with that figure, your figure will automatically appear because you will never gain weight only compliments. If you eat just one chocolate biscuit, 100 calories, over your daily 2000, for a year period, without exercising, you will gain weight, so understanding this simple fact, is where you must begin your journey.

The next time you put on a dress, look in the mirror and hate what you see because you look like a potatoes, the massive bloated middle without a waist, recognise you don't have to look like that, if you are just prepared to eat less and think more. Go to the supermarket and shop for fresh fruit and vegetables, salads and pulses, nuts and olives, cheese, eggs, brown bread and brown rice, then cook healthy and tasty meals that are not calorific but high in vitamins, the ingredients needed for looking youthful.

To get the Hollywood body, which in reality is how we should all look, slim, toned and healthy, is all about watching what we eat and drink, as well as how much we eat and drink, regardless of excuses and blind denial. In middle age our metabolism slows down, so eating what you like is no longer an option, if you want a slim figure more!

Wedding On A Budget.

The World is changing right now as money gets tighter and aspiration fades into something more realistic and attainable, like doing an important event on a budget. Getting married is all about family and friends getting together to celebrate love and happiness in the union of two people in love, so why waste money you haven't got, on expensive stuff you don't need.

The Hollywood Look For Less is all about attainable aspiration and being able to guide you all through how to get there, starting with your wedding gown.
Oxfam have the most amazing secondhand wedding gown collection at a fraction of the price a new one would cost, so remember the dress is just for the day and by recycling and supporting the charity, you are being savvy and sensible. as well as doing some good for others.

Don't get sucked into buying expensive flowers, that wilt and fade before you even get down the aisle, buy fake ones, like the picture above and keep the memory forever.

If you cannot afford to have a big feast at your reception, ask all your family and friends to make something delicious for you or provide you with a dish they cooked themselves and get them all contributing, saving you money and making the day extra special and more personal.

Spending money you have not got, is pointless and being in debt at the start of a new life is even more pointless, so take some good budget advice and keep it simple, stylish and on a shoestring because no one will care, just be desperate to join in and help.

Hot To Trot Or Stupid?

So we are two weeks into the first month of a new year and everyone is feeling flat, fat and fed up, broke, broken and bored, after two months of over eating, over drinking and over spending. The Hollywood Look For Less is all about how you remain fabulous, even if the money runs out and dark miserable weather is all you have to look forward to, so get motivated and go for a run.
Running is an amazing way to boost your mood, as well as help you shed those extra pounds, weighing you down and keeping you stuck in misery. Nothing will change in your life unless you take control and do the work.
In Hollywood as you can see from the picture above, what you wear is more important than how far you run, so if you are short of some ten inch heels, get yourself a pair of trainers from your local charity shop and put your back into it. Yesterday we picked up a pair of designer trainers at a swap party and boy are they fabulous, much more sensible than buying another dress you will never wear!
Make this year the time you make changes and stick to them in order to look and feel amazing without having to worry about spending money. Remember buy new and the joke is on you!
